Two new Julia versions are now available: v1.12.3 and v1.11.8. Binaries are available via JuliaUp (recommended) and manual download for macOS (Intel and M-series processors), Windows (x86 and x86-64), glibc Linux (x86, x86-64, and AArch64, plus PowerPC for 1.11.8), and FreeBSD (x86-64).
As patch releases, 1.12.3 and 1.11.8 contain no new features or breaking changes, only bug fixes, documentation improvements, and performance improvements. You can see the list of commits included in 1.12.3 since 1.12.2 here, and the list of commits included in 1.11.8 since 1.11.7 here. We recommend anyone currently using an earlier version upgrade accordingly.
Note that 1.12 on GitHub Actions, Cirrus, Travis, and AppVeyor now refers to 1.12.3, and 1.11 similarly refers to 1.11.8.
You may be wondering why we’re making another 1.11 release when 1.12 is the current stable version and we generally only maintain one LTS and one stable version at a time. A few packages have needed some time to adapt to internal changes made in 1.12 so we wanted to ensure that the users currently sticking with 1.11 can get some fixes. We do not anticipate making any additional 1.11 releases.
