How do you feel about Julia Observer?

Hi @nalimilan ,

FYI JuliaObserver.com has been down over a week now, and its not clear if anyone is working on it .

Also, All the alternative “work arounds” are extremely cumbersome, way too far down in the weeds for a searchable functional overview of available Julia packages , and so would be very weak substitutes for JuliaObserver.com .

Would you or anyone else on this thread know who to contact, offer help to etc. ?

Package registry is just a plain git repository with a bunch of TOML files. So, why not read the data directly? Here is a one-linear to list newly added packages in past 100 commits: cd ~/.julia/registries/General && \ git diff 'HEAD~100..origin/master' -- Registry.toml \ | grep -E '^\+[^+]' \ | sed -E 's/.*name = "([^"]+)".*/\1/g' (Of course, it would be much more robust to parse the TOML files and compare the Dict in Julia.) Sorry! Just got the server back up. Hope it goes through all the workers and is up and running by Monday

Will be adding new packages (using toml files) and improved categorization in the coming weeks
