Data Science for Social Good Summer Fellowship– Call for Fellows (and mentors and project managers)

Data Science for Social Good Summer Fellowship– Call for Fellows

The DFKI research department Data Science and its Applications (DSA) is running the Data Science for Social Good (DSSG) program in collaboration with the TU Kaiserslautern (link https://www.uni-kl.de) in the summer of 2023. After three years of organizing DSSG at the University of Warwick and the Alan Turing Institute in the UK, Sebastian Vollmer and his team brought this concept to Germany in 2022 and will run it again in the summer of 2023.

The programme will run over 12 weeks from 12 June to 31 August 2023

DSSG Germany gives early career data scientists the opportunity to refine their data science skills by working in small, supervised teams on real-world machine learning and data science projects. Fellows will work with local or global non-profit organisations and government agencies to make a real-world social impact with their data, by improving their services, interventions, and outreach. Fellows are offered a stipend.

If you have a passion for data science, care about the social good, and love to work in an international team of top talent, you are invited to apply before December 18, 2022 13:00 CET.

For Mentors and Project Managers the deadline is 31st of January.

We also have PhD and researcher positions in our group available.
