It’s great how opinionated he is, been that way his whole life.
Didn’t watch the whole talk, just the 49:35-52:09 clip where he gets into languages, but looking this guy up very quickly, he’s one of the authors on the paper for Convex.jl, as well as the other libraries he mentioned.
‘this guy’ is famous enough to have his own wikipedia page
I bet every student taking convex optimization right now will use one of his books.
Speaking at my graduate alma mater, no less! We had like 12 copies of his textbook in our lab. So many interesting application examples.
Haha! Our social status and employability is higher, nice.
