Artifacts.toml timestamp is in the future

A potential solution could be maintaining curated distribution (and release) specific override collections; eg one for Ubuntu 19.10, etc.

I am not sure what the best mechanism would be to keep them automatically updated and hook into Julia’s artifacts mechanism at the same time. But I guess that if someone is willing to commit to maintaining these, a way will be found.

Isn’t the problem solved by the override mechanism that @StefanKarpinski linked in the above post?

So I’m expected to manually over-ride 80+ artifacts, by individually looking up a UUID for each?

No, I’ve not yet had the time to repeat that 80+ times for all the artifacts I suddenly have now.

Is there any way to pre-generate an Overrides.toml file so I don’t have to manually find each UUID?

At this point, the artifacts folder has 1.3GB … that’s a bit excessive, especially for programs I already have installed separately on my system.
