Has anyone applied for or at least evaluated the possibility of applying for money from the Sovereign Technology Fund?

Fortran, Python Package Index and Mamba are some of the funded projects.

Is there someone from the organization you can put me in touch with? What is the average award size?

We applied with Makie and are in the final round.
Minimal budget is 250k and it goes up to a million or so.

Explaining the process would be a very interesting talk at JuliaCon, so that developers of Julia and other packages can learn from your experience.

I’m surprised the Sovereign Technology Agency also funds projects unrelated to internet infrastructure. If R gets funding, there’s a better chance that Julia or some important Julia libraries could also receive it in the future.
