# Where NLPModels.jl stands in comparition to JuMP?

I have just discovered [`NLPModels.jl`](https://github.com/JuliaSmoothOptimizers/NLPModels.jl).

How does it stand compared to [JuMP](https://jump.dev) ? I even understood there is [a package](https://github.com/JuliaSmoothOptimizers/NLPModelsJuMP.jl) to translate one “model format” (??) to the other, but I don’t have quite clear how the two packages position themselves…

I should have rely more on the search functionality of the forum.
