# Where are Julia packages installed?

I occasionally find myself wondering where packages are installed and fail to easily find the answer, so I’m putting it here.

`~/.julia/packages`

At least for me it’s in `~/.julia/packages`, not `package`

I’ve just checked I’m definitely `packages`, I’m on a Mac if that makes a difference. I hope there isn’t too much variation otherwise this may not be able to help too many people.

That’s what I said - it should be `packages` for everyone, but your accepted solution says `package`
