What is # = none: 1 = # in expression?

That’s a line number node — the none is a stand-in for the filename, which you don’t have since you’re at the REPL, and the number is the line.

You can strip them out with Base.remove_linenums!:

julia> Base.remove_linenums!(ex)
quote
    x = 1
    y = 2
    x + y
end
