# Want to change DEPOT\_PATH

Help i need to change and update DEPOT\_PATH.  
when i change DEPOT\_PATH by using DEPOT\_PATH[1] = “”  
after re open it reset

You can put something like

```julia
empty!(DEPOT_PATH)
push!(DEPOT_PATH,raw"d:\some\path\to\julia_depot")

```

into

```julia
C:\Users\USERNAME\.juliarc.jl

```

or, what is I believe is the current file to use:

```julia
C:\Users\USERNAME\.julia\config\startup.jl

```

You can set the environment variable `JULIA_DEPOT_PATH`, see [Environment Variables · The Julia Language](https://docs.julialang.org/en/v1/manual/environment-variables/#JULIA_DEPOT_PATH-1).
