# VSCode debugger breaks on unknown command

For reasons unknown to me, the _VSCode_ Julia debugger stopped working, and now it gives this error message every time I try to debug:

I tried removing and re-creating `.vscode/settings.json`, as mentioned in another thread, but it did not help.

The line `ERROR: Unknown command: stop` used to say simply `ERROR: Unknown command`, but I edited the relevant file just to print which command is the “offending” one.

I am using these versions:

- _VSCode_: 1.99.3
- _Julia_: 1.11.5
- It seems to me that the version of the _VSCode extension_ is 1.127.2, if I’m reading it right in the error message.

I use _VSCode_ for _Windows_ and connect to _WSL_, where I run the project. However, I tried running it directly on _Windows_ with the same result.

Solved: it was just that I forgot to update `.vscode/settings.json` after creating a `src/` subfolder and moving the “executable” file in there.

Of course, this is a very silly error, but it is worth noting that there is no clue about the nature of the problem in the output message. Nothing along the lines of “file MyScript.jl not found”.
