# VideoIO.jl - Way to directly record the dekstop?

Hey there, i successfully tried to use the package with OBS-Studio by creating a virtual camera with it, that points to the desktop.

It works great but in the package I build, I don’t want to depend on OBS-Studio.

Is there a way to pass the desktop directly, for example via [Desktop Duplication API - Win32 apps | Microsoft Docs](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/direct3ddxgi/desktop-dup-api)
