# Suppressing the label when using Plots or StatsPlots

When using `scatter` in the `Plots` or `StatsPlots` package it seems that I get a label by default. The only way I have found to suppress the label is to add a named argument `label=""`. If I have a simple scatterplot of one variable I don’t want a label in the panel telling me that the blue dots are for ‘y’.

When reading the documentation did I miss a simple way to suppress this?

`primary=false`

Or if you don’t want any legend, `legend=false`
