I’m experiencing a segmentation fault when `using Plots` in 1.8.4.

Thing I have done recently:

- upgraded Mint to 21 (fresh install)
- installed (with juliaup) the 1.9.0-beta2 version of julia, and added Plots to it

The problem **does not** occur in Julia 1.9.0-beta2, and from the log message, it seems to be something relate to system libraries, although I could not really see where to further investigate.

The full error is below, for anyone to see. This is trying to use Plots in a fresh Julia section, a new temporary environment:

Uhm, didn’t notice that there I didn’t get it. In fact the first error I got was this one, when I tried to start Plots from the main environment. Then I tried to simplifly things using a temporary one:

Additional information: I installed 1.8.3 and the error **does not occur**.

It may be some broken installation of Plots for 1.8.4, but I tried to remove it with no avail.

Is there a way to purge everything related to package, so I can start over?

Main things you can try deleting are the `Plots` directories in `.julia/packages` and `.julia/compiled/compiled/v1.8`, those are safe to delete because are downloaded or automatically generated locally, respectively.

Thanks, that did the trick.
