# Roadmap for a faster time-to-first-plot?

I am not sure what to make of these as alternatives — improvements arrive with the new releases (unless you follow eg `master`, but then you spend quite a bit of time compiling already).

But given [3 minor releases a year](https://discourse.julialang.org/t/proposed-release-process-and-schedule/15623), you are unlikely to get 1.7 within a year anyway.
