I’ve read the [docs](https://docs.julialang.org/en/v0.7.0/stdlib/Pkg/), watched the [youtube video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgFmiT5p0zU), spent two days trying to make it work, but my level of understanding is still abysmal. Are there other resources / posts to recommend? I get that it’s early days for Pkg3, and that it will improve soon, but we’d like to release a piece of software soonish, and it’d be nice to do things properly.

In particular, the description of the `add, instantiate, resolve, up` functions makes sense conceptually, but what do these functions really _do_? And how does Julia figure out which package to load, with which version?

I’ve been searching for the same, but I have yet to find anything. I read and follow every Pkg3 discourse post, which helps some, but even after some practice now I feel like my grasp on Pkg3 is tenuous at best.
