`lastindex(str)`: In [Strings · The Julia Language](https://docs.julialang.org/en/v1/manual/strings/index.html), we see

- [`lastindex(str)`](https://docs.julialang.org/en/v1/base/collections/#Base.lastindex) gives the maximal (byte) index that can be used to index into `str` .

In REPL help mode: `?lastindex` , nothing on strings, only text as seen in [Collections and Data Structures · The Julia Language](https://docs.julialang.org/en/v1/base/collections/#Base.lastindex)

I hope that there is something like:

> ```
> lastindex(str::AbstractString)
>
> ```
>
> gives the maximal (byte) index that can be used to index into str.
>
> # Examples
>
> ```jldoctest
> julia> lastindex("")
> 0
>
> julia> lastindex("∀")
> 1
>
> ```

Yes, it looks like a docstring would be reasonable for that method, too.

Please open an issue or make a PR.
