# Question mark in variable names

As a heads up, it’s quite unlikely that `?` will be allowed as part of variable names, since postfix `?` is being claimed in Julia 1.0 as `T? == Union{T, Null}` (see [this data ecosystem announcement](https://discourse.julialang.org/t/announcement-an-update-on-dataframes-future-plans/4646)). In anticipation of this, omitting whitespace between an expression and the `?` in a ternary [has been deprecated](https://github.com/JuliaLang/julia/pull/22523) in 0.7.
