# Products, branding, sponsorship questions

Hey yall,

I am wondering about some community features. What are the current guidelines, and which entity and persons make decisions regarding

- products with “Julia” in the name
- using the Julia logo in commercial designs
- promoting commercial products in JuliaCon presentations

?

As examples, the recent [talk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNbU5jNp67s) at JuliaCon 2021 marketing the closed-source JuliaSim product doesn’t seem to be a sponsored talk, and that company uses the Julia name. Julia Computing uses the name and logo but does sponsor. Julia Lab (at MIT) uses the name but has no talk.

JuliaComputing / @StefanKarpinski own the Julia trademark.

@StefanKarpinski is there some guidelines online where folks can read about what fair use of the Julia brand/logo would be?
