# Problems with deprecations of islower, lowercase, isupper, uppercase

This is a plea for the thread to stop.

There is an on-topic action being taken: @ScottPJones is implementing a string package where he can demonstrate string improvements. This is a win for everyone, as the worst-case scenario is a great string package outside base.

I’d also like to encourage those interested to first contact the Julia Community Stewards ([Julia Community - Stewards](https://julialang.org/community/stewards/)) to see if matters can be resolved in the way the community has set up.
