# Problem with Genie.jl newapp\_mvc

Try to make new App

```julia
import Pkg
path = "D:\\GenieTest"
cd(path)
Pkg.activate("")
Pkg.add("Genie")
using Genie

Genie.Generator.newapp_mvc("NewApp")

```

And get:

```julia
  Activating new project at `D:\GenieTest\NewApp\test`
  Activating project at `D:\GenieTest\NewApp`
[ Info: Starting your brand new Genie app - hang tight!
ERROR: SystemError: opening file "g:\\Cloud\\Julia\\GenieApp\\config\\initializers\\searchlight.jl": No such file or directory

```

Genie using path to previous APP: “g:\Cloud\Julia\GenieApp\config\initializers\searchlight.jl”

How to fix it?

path = "D:\\GenieApp"
cd(path)
Pkg.activate("")
Pkg.add(["Genie", "SearchLight", "SearchLightSQLite"])

using Genie
#using SearchLight
#using SearchLightSQLite
Genie.Generator.newapp("MyGenieApp")
cd(joinpath(path, "MyGenieApp"))
edit("routes.jl")
Genie.Generator.newcontroller("Books")

using MyGenieApp.BooksController

```

ERRORS

```julia
┌ Error: 2025-07-14 23:45:22 ErrorException("g:\\Cloud\\Julia\\!GTEST\\app\\resources\\books\\BooksController.jl is not a file")
└ @ Genie.Generator 
[ Info: 2025-07-14 23:45:22 New controller created at D:\GenieApp\MyGenieApp\app\resources\books\BooksController.jl

ERROR: UndefVarError: BooksController not defined

```

It try to make controller in `g:\\Cloud\\Julia\\!GTEST\\app\\resources\\books\\BooksController.jl` why?

Try this, if you have not already solved the issue:

```julia
Genie.Generator.newresource("book")

```
