# Problem combining worker processes and threads

So, it seems that this is due to [Are Julia Channels/Futures thread safe (with a failing code example)?](https://discourse.julialang.org/t/are-julia-channels-futures-thread-safe-with-a-failing-code-example/64490) (which ties in to [Concurrency violation on interplay between Distributed and Base.Threads · Issue #37706 · JuliaLang/julia · GitHub](https://github.com/JuliaLang/julia/issues/37706)). I must say I’m surprised that basic coordination classes such as futures and channels are not thread safe.
