# Precompile errors with \`pkg\> update\` or \`pkg\> add\` for some packages

Summary: in Arch Linux use the package [`aur:julia-bin`](https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/julia-bin) which simply redistributes the [official binaries](https://julialang.org/downloads/), don’t use the [package](https://archlinux.org/packages/community/x86_64/julia/) in the official repositories, which has lots of problems. This is also documented in [Arch Linux wiki](https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Julia#Installation).
