# PostDoc position: Machine Learning in Global Socioeconomic Data

Dear Julia community,

we am looking for a postdoctoral researcher to work with us on Machine Learning in Global Socioeconomic Data. We are a newly established [Research Center for Earth System Research](https://rsc4earth.de/) at [Leipzig University, Germany](https://www.uni-leipzig.de/). A new German project on "COping CAPacity of nations facing systemic crisis – a global intercomparison exploring the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic (COCAP)” has invited us to cooperate on methodological advances to quantify high-dimensional dynamics in global socioeconomic data streams. Specifically, we aim to understand what global socioeconomic signatures and constellations have played a decisive role in the development of the COVID-19 pandemic. Considering spatiotemporal context will only be one of the multiple challenges to address.
