Hi all,

We have an open PhD position at the Computer Systems lab of [Ghent University](https://www.ugent.be/en) (Belgium) for research into Julia’s [GPU back-end](https://github.com/JuliaGPU/CUDAnative.jl) as developed at our lab.

Our funding covers a 4-year PhD program in the context of a research grant. The grant allows for quite some academic freedom, but we’re mainly interested in (a) the interfaces between the Julia compiler and its external back-ends, and (b) how a high-level language can be used to facilitate accelerator programming. Either way, work “across the stack” is expected, so candidates are required to have experience with Julia, GPUs (programming & architecture), and compilers.

For more details, see [the full application page](https://www.hipeac.net/jobs/9984/phd-position-in-high-level-programming-language-compilers-for-gpus/). Feel free to contact me about this position.
