# OffsetArrays, inbounds, and confusion

Don’t know if you’re the same person, but I just answered [here](https://github.com/JuliaLang/julia/issues/45342#issuecomment-1131201290) that coming from C++ does help a lot to understand the complications and problems of invalid access to memory.

That’s not possible ([PSA: Julia is not at that stage of development anymore](https://discourse.julialang.org/t/psa-julia-is-not-at-that-stage-of-development-anymore/44872)), or desirable, I think, for a lot of people.

It is a package, so it cannot be deprecated (unless you convince the package author to take it down, but even then it would remain available on the Registry).

I don’t think it is needed to discourage the use of it, as it is somewhat niche. But as [I stated](https://discourse.julialang.org/t/discussion-on-why-i-no-longer-recommend-julia-by-yuri-vishnevsky/81151/94) on the thread discussing the original blog, I need them for the work I do. I get paid to do it that way. 😅
