Last post + more context: I'm creating the world's first commercial game written in Julia!
So cool! Huge congrats!
Can you post a brief summary of your experience? How does Julia compare to other languages for a project of this nature?
Thank you!!
Yes, I’ll update this soon with a little postmortem on the dev process and issues I’ve encountered along the way
Hi @Kyjor, first of all, congratulations, this looks amazing ![]()
Would you consider writing a blog post about this game and your journey using Julia? I’m a former gamedev myself (I was tempted to ask for the source code too, but I know that’s too much
). Julia means a lot to me, and I’d love to understand your building process, so I can connect my love for Julia with this game and make time to play it end-to-end.
No pressure at all, only a hopeful ask from a fan. Wishing you a great launch! ![]()
Congratulations : )
How did you compile it?
Thank you! I updated the post with a link to my initial announcement post which has a lot of the process details with resources used. For the blog post, yeah, I think I’d like to write something long-form up soon (https://kyjor.io/)! As for the code, if you’re interested I could probably create a mirror which has the jl source files only, none of the assets. It is a mess though ![]()
I use package compiler! A slightly modified version of it though. I updated the original post with a link to the initial announcement post here that has more details!
Nice game! Beat it magician, quite a no brainer with all treasures stacked up.
Thanks for playing! We’re working on better balancing the game as more people play. Please join the discord to share feedback or bugs you encounter!
