# Named objects in .obj files

I have `.obj` format files exported from Blender, which include object names (`o` keyword). I’d like to retain the association between these object names and the geometry they refer to. As far as I can tell this isn’t currently supported in the MeshIO loader. Similarly it doesn’t look like materials information (`mtllib`, `usemtl`) is preserved.

Is there a way to preserve the object names and materials information when loading with MeshIO? Or with some other package?
