# ModellingToolkit/ optimal control training

A colleague of me is going to attend a three-day [CASADI training](https://web.casadi.org/ocp2024/). I told him:

> Only advantage of CASADI over ModingToolkit is: “CASADI supports special functionality for quadratic programming problems”, in all other aspects ModelingToolkit is superior.

His reply:

> Might be, but they did not offer such a nice course on optimal and model predictive control, at least that I know of.

Is there anything we can do about this issue?

Casadi is an AD and optimization tool and is more similar to JuMP than to MTK. They also offer C code generation

Perhaps [this section](https://github.com/SciML/ModelingToolkit.jl/blob/master/docs/src/comparison.md#comparison-against-casadi) should be improved then?

And Casadi is not mentioned [here](https://jump.dev/JuMP.jl/stable/should_i_use/).
