Hi,

first time posting here. Hello everyone.

I write microsimulation models for a living - more [here](http://virtual-worlds.scot), if you’re interested - and I’m starting work on an open-source Tax-Benefit model for Scotland. This is unfunded at present, so it may take a while.

As part of that, I’ve written a [small package of stuff that we’ve found to be useful for this type of modelling](https://github.com/grahamstark/TBComponents.jl). So far, it has code for:

- [generating standard poverty and inequality measures](https://github.com/grahamstark/TBComponents.jl/blob/master/docs/poverty_inequality.md);
- [generating exact piecewise-linear budget constraints](https://github.com/grahamstark/TBComponents.jl/blob/master/docs/piecewise_linear_generator.md);
- [reweighting a dataset so the weighted dataset meets a set of targets](https://github.com/grahamstark/TBComponents.jl/blob/master/docs/reweighter.md); and
- [some general-purpose taxation components](https://github.com/grahamstark/TBComponents.jl/blob/master/docs/taxcalcs.md).

This is my first attempt with Julia so it’s likely that the code isn’t particularly idiomatic, and there’s a long way to go, but I thought I’d share.

thanks,

Graham
