# Managing Julia packages in a Conda environment by moving JULIA\_DEPOT

Julia 1.6.1 is currently in conda-forge and [Julia 1.6.2 is on its way](https://github.com/conda-forge/julia-feedstock/pull/119).

There’s another pull request proposing to add a Conda specific JULIA\_DEPOT location, and I was wondering if anyone else had any thoughts on managing Julia in a Conda environment:

The proposal there perhaps extends beyond conda-forge installed Julia and may also be applicable to using official Julia builds with a conda environment.
