# Makie xrug/ yrug scatter plot

I tried to reproduce Gadfly’s xrug/yrug in Makie as in the example [xrug/yrug](http://gadflyjl.org/stable/gallery/guides/#%5BGuide.xrug%5D(@ref),-%5BGuide.yrug%5D(@ref)). Appreciate your help. Thanks.

You can currently use the `vlines!` function for that, which only works together with `Axis`.

```julia
data = randn(2, 20)

fig, ax, s = scatter(data)
vlines!(ax, data[1, :], ymax = 0.025)
fig

```
