However, you’d probably be best off with a system neither of you know – SAS JMP , which can do all the math and you can program using the JSL scripting language.

That is, if you can afford it. At $1500 annual subscription (!) one thing it ain’t is cheap.

I am already trying to use Julia to move away from our MathCAD subscription. I’d rather not add another subscription on top, especially at that price!

This is an interesting point. I wonder how I would feel, being forced to use a language with latency issues and missing packages that I’m used to… In fact I don’t wonder. I know I would have hated it. Luckily I came to Julia as something exotic and interesting, initially to use on fun side projects.
