# Loading an image in place

Have you looked into [memory-mapped IO](https://docs.julialang.org/en/v1/stdlib/Mmap/)? Whether this is what you want will depend on the format of your image; I suggest providing more detail in your question (see [here](https://discourse.julialang.org/t/please-read-make-it-easier-to-help-you/14757)).
