# Juliapackages and Juliaobserver

Are `Juliapackages` and `Juliaobserver` down?

Thank you.  
I think the black div is an error, because in Firefox I cannot see anything (a modal question could be better to get attention).  
I have to “remove it” using the Developer Web Tools in Firefox to be able to see anything, but I think many people could not have the knowledge to do it (or remove it with adBlock extension). [Juliahub.com](http://Juliahub.com) is great, but many pages have links to [juliapackages.com](http://juliapackages.com) or [juliaobserver.com](http://juliaobserver.com), and not been able to see anything could give a very bad impression. If [juliahub.com](http://juliahub.com) is the replacement, it should be better to redirect the URL.

There are two different services (with their respective histories) involved here:

- Julia Observer and Julia Packages (the ones with the black screen) are open source package browsing tools, with [Julia Packages meant to be the replacement of Julia Observer](https://discourse.julialang.org/t/shutting-down-julia-observer-posted-4-1-20/36870).
- JuliaHub has nothing to do with them (except that also has a package browsing tool): it is a broader service provided by Julia Computing [that replaces pkg.julialang.org](https://discourse.julialang.org/t/how-fast-is-pkg-julialang-org-updated/35688/4)

Both [JuliaObserver](http://juliaobserver.com/) and [JuliaPackages](http://juliapackages.com/) are back up. Apologies for the [inconvenience](https://github.com/djsegal/julia_observer/commit/1926ee73cf395a105bb872df09e4e1db94b422b7#comments). Just maybe try to love each other a little more?

Also want to clarify that I am in no way affiliated with Julia Computing. I just build useful user-friendly websites pro bono (apparently?)
