A static type checker like [mypy](https://github.com/python/mypy)/[pyright](https://github.com/Microsoft/pyright)/[pyre](https://github.com/facebook/pyre-check) would be great. But I know that “type checking” is actually listed in [Compiler work priorities](https://discourse.julialang.org/t/compiler-work-priorities/17623) so I suppose the core team is thinking about this as well.
