# Julia v1.9.0-beta4 is now available

The Julia developers are pleased to announce that v1.9.0-beta4, the fourth beta version for the upcoming 1.9 stable series, is now available. Binaries are available for download at [https://julialang.org/downloads](https://julialang.org/downloads) in the “upcoming release” section for the following platforms, listed here by [support tier](https://julialang.org/downloads/#supported_platforms):

- Tier 1:
  - Linux x86\_64 (glibc)
  - Linux i686 (glibc)
  - macOS x86\_64 (Intel or Rosetta)
  - Window x86\_64

- Tier 2:
  - FreeBSD x86\_64
  - Linux AArch64 (glibc)
  - Linux x86\_64 (musl)
  - macOS AArch64 (M-series)
  - Windows i686

- Tier 3:
  - Linux PowerPC (glibc)

As a beta version, 1.9.0-beta4 should **not** be considered production-ready. Rather, it’s intended to give users, especially package developers, a chance to try out their code with 1.9.0 prior to a full release. Check out the [NEWS file](https://github.com/JuliaLang/julia/blob/v1.9.0-beta4/NEWS.md) to see what will be new in 1.9.0.

Note that `1.9` on [Travis](https://docs.travis-ci.com/user/languages/julia/), [AppVeyor](https://github.com/JuliaCI/Appveyor.jl), and [Cirrus](https://github.com/ararslan/CirrusCI.jl) now refers to 1.9.0-beta4. On [GitHub Actions](https://github.com/julia-actions/setup-julia), use `~1.9.0-0`.
