# Julia v1.12.0 has been released

The Julia developers are pleased to announce the release of Julia v1.12.0, the twelfth minor release in the 1.x series. Some folks put together a [blog post](https://julialang.org/blog/2025/10/julia-1.12-highlights/) highlighting some of the most exciting new features in 1.12 and we encourage everyone to check it out. As usual, there is also the [NEWS file](https://github.com/JuliaLang/julia/tree/v1.12.0/NEWS.md) for the full set of release notes.
As a minor release, v1.12.0 contains no breaking changes, only new features, performance improvements, and marginal, non-disruptive changes in behavior. Download 1.12 via [JuliaUp](https://github.com/JuliaLang/juliaup) or head over to [https://julialang.org/downloads](https://julialang.org/downloads) to download manually for macOS (Intel and M1 processors), Windows (32- and 64-bit), glibc Linux (x86, x86-64, and AArch64), and FreeBSD (x86-64).
We encourage everyone to give it a try. Packages can test with 1.12.0 on CI by specifying `1.12` on [GitHub Actions](https://github.com/julia-actions/setup-julia), [Cirrus](https://github.com/ararslan/CirrusCI.jl), Travis, and [AppVeyor](https://github.com/JuliaCI/Appveyor.jl). On CI providers that support it, `1` will now also refer to 1.12.0. As always, let us know in the [issue tracker](https://github.com/JuliaLang/julia/issues) if you run into any issues.
Note that with this, Julia 1.11 is now officially unmaintained. Downloads for Julia 1.11 are still available on the [Old Releases page](https://julialang.org/downloads/oldreleases/), alongside all other prior, now-unmaintained releases.
