Julia v1.11.9 has been released in order to provide bug fixes, documentation improvements, and/or performance improvements for users of packages that still need additional time to adapt to internal changes made in Julia 1.12. We do not _anticipate_ making any additional 1.11 releases (sounds [familiar](https://discourse.julialang.org/t/julia-v1-12-3-and-v1-11-8-have-been-released/134573)) but we’ll make more if we need to.

Binaries are available via [JuliaUp](https://julialang.org/downloads/) (recommended) and manual download from the [old releases page](https://julialang.org/downloads/oldreleases/) for macOS (Intel and M-series processors), Windows (x86 and x86-64), glibc Linux (x86, x86-64, AArch64, and PowerPC), and FreeBSD (x86-64).

As a patch release, 1.11.9 contains no new features or breaking changes. You can see the list of commits included since 1.11.8 [here](https://github.com/JuliaLang/julia/compare/v1.11.8...v1.11.9). Users stuck on 1.11 are encouraged to upgrade to 1.11.9; other users are encouraged to upgrade to the latest stable version.

Note that `1.11` on [GitHub Actions](https://github.com/julia-actions/setup-julia), [Cirrus](https://github.com/ararslan/CirrusCI.jl), [Travis](https://docs.travis-ci.com/user/languages/julia/), and [AppVeyor](https://github.com/JuliaCI/Appveyor.jl) now refers to 1.11.9. Where supported, `1` continues to refer to the latest 1.12 release.
