# Julia v1.11.0-alpha2 is now available

The Julia developers are pleased to announce that v1.11.0-alpha2, the second alpha version for the upcoming 1.11 stable series, is now available. Binaries are available via [Juliaup](https://github.com/JuliaLang/juliaup) and from [https://julialang.org/downloads](https://julialang.org/downloads) in the “upcoming release” section for macOS (M-series and Intel), Windows (32- and 64-bit), glibc Linux (x86, x86\_64, AArch64, PPC), and FreeBSD (x86\_64). Unfortunately, binaries are not currently available for musl Linux for this release due to issues with the build infrastructure.

As an alpha version, 1.11.0-alpha2 should **not** be considered production-ready. Rather, it’s intended to give users, especially package developers, a chance to try out their code with 1.11.0 prior to a full release. Check out the [NEWS file](https://github.com/JuliaLang/julia/blob/v1.11.0-alpha2/NEWS.md) to see what will be new in 1.11.0.

Note that `1.11` on [Travis](https://docs.travis-ci.com/user/languages/julia/), [AppVeyor](https://github.com/JuliaCI/Appveyor.jl), and [Cirrus](https://github.com/ararslan/CirrusCI.jl) now refers to 1.11.0-alpha2. On [GitHub Actions](https://github.com/julia-actions/setup-julia), use `~1.11.0-0`.
