Just to get it out of my head and onto the forum, from what I’ve gathered (and I am not an expert in iOS development or Apple platforms - so I’d welcome any corrections) - this is unfortunately not possible. My iPad only runs the “JIT-enabled” port when a debugger is actively connected to it. I think that might be the foundation of the AltStore workaround you linked before, a hack for jailbroken iPads to be tricked into thinking a debugger is always attached.

Then there’s also the issue that the mobile device operating systems handle processes, tasks, and threads differently than the desktop \*nix and Windows operating systems. So the port only handles getting a Julia framework, equivalent to having libjulia, available on iOS.

So a motivated individual who downloads the modifications to get this pseudo-libjulia that requires JIT running on their iOS device, after they embed the library into an app that can run, can only run it if they initiate running it from a Mac with XCode, with the target device being their device, with the debugger attached. Launching the app from it’s icon on their iOS device would fail.

I don’t have any experience with the enterprise provisioning stuff, so perhaps that could be an option, and I don’t have a jailbroken device, so perhaps a lot more things are possible with one of those.

BTW I’ve created a new channel, **[#ios](https://julialang.slack.com/archives/C0BP3F8RXPE)** in the official Julia slack, specifically for discussing iOS devices, as some people have been trying to run Julia on them recently. Let’s have a chat 😃
