# Julia fails to precompile plots

Can you restart julia, then type:

```julia
julia> ENV["JULIA_DEBUG"] = "GR";
julia> using Pkg; Pkg.precompile()

```

You should see the debug message as in [Cannot Precompile Plots.jl due to GR - #7 by t-bltg](https://discourse.julialang.org/t/cannot-precompile-plots-jl-due-to-gr/88230/7).
