# Julia Discourse and the Fediverse

It seems it was recently made possible to connect discourse instances to the fediverse - perhaps an idea for improvement: [Discourse and the Fediverse!](https://blog.discourse.org/2025/04/discourse-and-the-fediverse/)

If moderation (effort) is not negatively impacted… - have not dived deep into the pros / cons.

That’s a pretty neat way to do it. The whole of Discourse might easily get overwhelming, but splitting it into multiple "user account"s and enabling us to follow particular categories and/or tags of interest makes this make a lot more sense.

I like the rough idea here, but I really don’t understand the details — even after reading that meta post and looking for the examples.

More fundamentally, though, unfortunately the ActivityPub plugin isn’t one of the available plugins on our hosting tier.
