# Julia Community in Africa

Hey folks, I am interested in helping support/kickoff some events and resources for our Julia community in Africa. Any folks in that community that are interested, please get in touch and we can collaborate on getting some events and such up and running!

Hi Logan,

I am really interested in this initiative and would love to get some events going in Africa.

I work at a South African university and I have been using Julia for some of my courses. The reception has been great and my colleagues have also started to use the language for some of their projects. I know of people at different institutions in our country that use Julia, so I believe that there will be some interest. Please let me know what I can do to help.

There was also a great Julia course on Coursera presented by Henri Laurie from Cape Town University. You should be in contact!
