I’m curious if there are any Julia Pkgs that port [python’s appdirs](https://pypi.org/project/appdirs/).

have a look at [DrWatson.jl](https://juliadynamics.github.io/DrWatson.jl/dev/project/#Navigating-a-Project-1). Maybe that is it

DrWatson.jl appears to be a good solution for files associated with a single project (much like the [{here} R package](https://here.r-lib.org/) which is immensely useful in other contexts, so thank you!), but it doesn’t address the issue if I need files that can be accessed by several projects on the same computer, which is what appdirs does.

> Scratch.jl [Scratch.jl](https://github.com/JuliaPackaging/Scratch.jl) implements package-specific namespaced mutable data scratch spaces/containers. The spaces can contain datasets, text, binaries, or any other data that is convenient to store in a package-specific location. Scratch spaces are designed for data caches that are completely managed by a package and should be removed when the package itself is uninstalled. In the current implementation, scratch spaces are removed during Pkg garbage collection if the owning package has been remov…

It looks like the scratchspaces all live within the `~/.julia/` directory. Is this compatible with Windows, and macOS and/or is it possible to have the directory conform to the standards of appdirs?

This is compatible with MacOS. Don’t know about Windows.
