Hi all,

I’m a heavy user of PlotlyLight.jl, but I noticed that the package hasn’t been updated for about nine months. Plotly.js upstream is now at v3.7.0, while PlotlyLight.jl still bundles Plotly.js v3.3.0, which means users are missing out on recent fixes and new features.

I also noticed that the package still depends on the deprecated JSON3.jl. Ideally, it should be migrated to JSON.jl, along with EasyConfig.jl, which also depends on JSON3.jl. The current Plotly.js artifact setup also relies on a personal GitHub gist, and I think it would be better to move that to a repository-owned GitHub Actions-based pipeline.

I tried reaching out to the package author, Josh Day, by email about two weeks ago, but I haven’t heard back so far. I’d be interested in taking over maintenance of the package.

Does anyone in the community know who the right person to contact would be, or happen to know someone with admin access to the repository?

Have you tried any of the contributors to the PlotlyLight.jl on GitHub?

@karei Can you open a GitHub issue on the repo? I can ping someone there once you open an issue.

Not yet. My main concern is repository permissions, since contributors usually don’t have maintainer or admin access themselves.

Sure, thanks! I’ve opened [an issue there](https://github.com/JuliaComputing/PlotlyLight.jl/issues/63).
