I am using ubuntu 16.04. I downloaded JuliaPro from website. Following the steps, I ran
$ ./Launch\_JuliaPro
bash: ./Launch\_JuliaPro: Permission denied
so, I added sudo

$ sudo ./Launch\_JuliaPro
[30158:1214/124559.500201:FATAL:atom\_main\_delegate.cc(210)] Running as root without --no-sandbox is not supported. See [638180 - chromium - An open-source project to help move the web forward. - Monorail](https://crbug.com/638180).

Unless you have a compelling reason to use JuliaPro, I would just go with the official binaries:

> **[Download Julia](https://julialang.org/downloads/)**
>
> The official website for the Julia Language. Julia is a language that is fast, dynamic, easy to use, and open source. Click here to learn more.

I agree with @Tamas_Papp.
If you really prefer, try accommodating the error message.
perhaps `sudo ./Launch_JuliaPro --no-sandbox`
would work (I do not have Ubuntu running).
