# How was this discourse forum setup?

May I ask please how was this forum setup  
Does it use one of the available plan [Discourse pricing | Discourse - Civilized Discussion](https://www.discourse.org/pricing)

Or was it installed from the source and is managed by one of the site admins

(I am asking here, and will ask in few other communities, because I would like to propose something  
to the rakulang community, and I want to know how others did it)

I thought it was through something like: [https://free.discourse.group/](https://free.discourse.group/). But I’m not 100% on that.

It is the hosted option. We decided not to install and maintain ourselves early on and support the team developing discourse.

The free option doesn’t apply to us, since we are at 1.4M pageviews/month. They had a 50% discount for open source projects when we started.

They still have it for people over the bandwidth limit.
