# How to test custom \`show\_data\` for \`DataInspector\` in \`Makie\`

Hello all ! [This page](https://docs.makie.org/stable/explanations/inspector/) provides information on how to write your own `sho_data` for `DataInspector` in `Makie`. However, there is no information on how to test such interactive features properly.

Given that one should hover on the plots to reproduce the behavior of `show_data`, what is the recommended way to do that programmatically ?
