So I was playing around with `@edit`:

```julia
@edit @time exp(1)
```

In the definition of the `time` `macro`, `timing.jl`, line 216:

```julia
while false; end # compiler heuristic: compile this block (alter this if the heuristic changes)
```

I followed this through [`timing.jl`](https://github.com/JuliaLang/julia/blob/master/base/timing.jl#L262), to [`experimental.jl`](https://github.com/JuliaLang/julia/blob/master/base/experimental.jl#L201) all the way to [this discussion](https://github.com/JuliaLang/julia/issues/39760#issuecomment-782828980) in a GitHub issue. That being said, can someone explain how [`Experimental.@force_compile`](https://github.com/JuliaLang/julia/blob/master/base/experimental.jl#L201) works?
